How to upload photos and files... Your project description detail is essential to receiving quality accurate bids. There is no better way to describe your project than by uploading quality project photos along with your text description. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. One photo may be the difference between a service provider having to visit the project site before placing a bid or not having to visit the project site at all prior to placing a bid. When you save service providers time and money, you save time and money. Service providers may incorporate hiddne expenses into project bids to compensate for any initial travel expenses and\or time lost due to having to visit the project site prior to placing a bid. There are primarily two different ares in which buyers can upload files. One being during project posting or updating and the other is the buyer profile logo. Either way, the procedure is the same. 1.) Depending on whether you are uploading a file or photo for your project or just uploading your buyer profile logo, be sure to pay close attention to file formats. For example, you can upload a MS Word document with a project description but you can't upload a MS Word document as your buyer profile logo. File formats are denoted by their file extension. An image may be named MyHouse.gif or MyHouse.jpg whereas a MS Word document might be named MyDescription.doc. You will notice that the last three letters of the file names vary with each format. 2.) The first thing you will want to do is take note as to where these files reside on your computer. Perhaps you saved your MS Word document under your My Documents folder on your C: drive. Or maybe you saved your project photos to your desktop so that you can easily find them when it is time to upload them. 3.) Click on the browse button to select the photo or file from your computer. To help illustrate this, we have provided a snapshot of the browse button from our file upload utility below...
4.) Upon clicking on the browse button you will receive a popup window from where you can select the photo or file that you wish to upload. We have provided a screen shot of what this window looks like below...
5.) The above screen shot depicts three fields as follows, Look In, File Name, and Files of Type. Click on the Look In drop down list from the top of the window to select the directory that contains the file or photo that you want to upload. Upon doing so, you will then see a comprehensive listing of the files and photos that reside in that directory. Note that if you only want to view photos then you can click on the Files Of Type drop down list located at the bottom of the window. There you can select Pictures(*.jpg, *.gif) which limit your files to only images. 6.) Select the file or photo that you wish to upload. You will then notice the file name in the File Name field shown at the bottom of the window. Note that your file name may change upon uploading it if another file with that same name already exists. 7.) Click on the open button. You should now see the browse field populated with a path that corresponds to where your file resides on your computer. See screen shot below.
8.) You are now ready to upload the file. In this example, you would simply click on the button that reads "Click here to upload file". However, in other areas of HandyBeaver.com the button may read "Submit", "Update", or something else. |
